Live Your Peace interviews Nanette Hartwell

Nanette HartwellNanette Hartwell grew up in a small rural community named Greenfield, located in central Indiana, just east of Indianapolis. She loved to draw as a young girl and was starved for the knowledge to learn as much as possible concerning the creation of art. She studied art while attending high school and won many weekend and summer scholarships, which afforded her the opportunity to learn new visual art techniques. Upon graduation from high school and being accepted at Herron School of Art and Design, which is also part of Indiana University, she won a scholarship to attend her first year of schooling. Soon, however, she grew adventurous and joined the United States Army, where she proudly served her country for 10 years. During her tours of duty with the Army, she grew to love 35 mm photography.  Upon leaving the service, she became disabled and soon returned to her life love:  Visual Arts. After her rehabilitation period, she returned to the Art World and is presently providing Customized Photographic Services, Custom Fine Art as well as offering Graphic Design and Website Design.

Areas of concentration for Nanette include:  photographing various scenes around the State of South Carolina, photographing family, pet, as well as individual portraits, working with Small to Medium businesses in decorating their offices with elaborate photographs printed upon canvas, providing them with simple to elaborate websites, Custom Photographic work for those individuals needing to present themselves via multimedia, preserving through photography and fine arts animals currently listed on the extinct or near extinction list. She also enjoys Painting and Photographing in large format, flowers along with doing Realistic People and Pet portraiture in color and  black and white digital format.

She is a member of the Professional Photographers Association, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, the Upstate Visual Arts Community, South Carolina Watercolor Society, North Carolina Watercolor Society, is a Phi Theta Kappa, and member of the National Technical Honor Society.  During her schooling she maintained a 4.0 GPA, and is a current member with the Greenville South Carolina Metropolitan Arts Council.   Nanette is proficient in Black and White 35mm SLR photography and 35 mm Digital SLR photography.

Since the first “Live Your Peace” workshop was conceived in October 2009 right after the announcement of Mr. Barack Obama’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Award, “Live Your Peace” has attracted the passion, resources and vision of Bill Jersey an Emmy award winning film maker, Twilight Wish, a national award winning 501c3 who honors and makes dreams come true for seniors, a two time Oprah guest, Patricia Gallagher who created the “Team of Angels”, best selling authors and speakers such as Dr. Judith Orloff MD, Scott Blum, co-creator of DailyOM,  Hay House authors; Jude Curivan, Alan Cohen, Karen Drucker and many other talent in her local and international community. In preparation for the Sundance Film Festival, Live Your Peace is hosting a special event to feature even more powerful conversations with peacemakers including how to use your passion, vision and expertise to profitably share your vision of peace on the world stage. These conversations will be featured in the hour documentary Live Your Peace.
