Ruth Anne,

First of all, I think this film idea sounds sensational. I am a spiritually-oriented psychotherapist (in Wynnewood) and former journalist (Columbia J. school, former reporter for the old Phila. Bulletin), who has created a relationship repair tool that an Utne Reader cover story has called, "one of the 24 brainstorms of the planet," and has been a featured item in Harper-Collins, 500 Ways to Change the World. A new expanded version of Talk To Me Like I'm Someone You Love is being published by Tarcher/Penguin next month...and I would be honored and delighted to have 10 seconds (!) to somehow communicate my method of [piercing defensiveness with written flash cards like, "I'm afraid if i say I'm sorry, you'll make everything all my fault" and "I realize I've been overreacting. can you give me a minute to get sane again? and "I love you, I hate fighting, and can we please hug?"
I gave up journalism after winning the RFK Journalism Award for Reporting on the Problems of the Disadvantaged (shared with Geraldo at the time), and getting a job offer at the NYTimes....I realized my crusading was only adding more anger to the world, and that peace needed to start with the person you woke up with this morning.
Anyway, you can get a feel for my "emotional maturity" project at www.nancydreyfus.com
and if I can figure out your email, I'd like to send you a bit more. I have a personal relationship with Edie, and feel psyched. My life has been about bringing the quest for peace from the macrocosm to the micro...and seeing the two realms as inter-related....
I feel thrilled about what you are doing and want to help in any way I can! For starters I am signing up for the workshop at the producer level...

real regards, Nancy
